According to the annual plan for maintenance of the canal network of the subsidiary of “Skopsko Pole”, situated in town of Skopje, in November 2021, approximately ten thousand (10,000) meters in total of drainage and irrigation canals were cleaned of sediments and vegetation using machinery, as follows:

MUNICIPALITY OF ILINDEN

- “Canal A” within the municipality of Ilinden in total length of 2800
meters. From 04 Nov until 25 Nov cleaning of “Canal
A” in total length of 2800 meters was carried out. The canal was cleaned of sediments and vegetation using machinery (small excavator “Yanmar”). Normal flow of water in the canal resumed.

 

-  Perimeter canal from settlement of Arachinovo until the Sutash dairy in the Municipality of Ilinden with a length of 1000 meters.
From 18-23 Nov, part of the perimeter canal was cleaned of sediments and vegetation by using machinery (crawler excavator “Sunward”). The flow of water in this perimeter drainage canal was significantly reduced due to unscrupulous citizens disposing of various type of garbage in it, forcing cleaning of the canal to be carried out earlier then scheduled.

- Main canal in the Municipality of Ilinden with a length of 3000 meters.
According to the annual program and action plan with the Municipality of Ilinden, part of the main canal in the Municipality of Ilinden with a length of 3000 meters was cleaned in the period from 11–30 Nov. The main canal was overgrown with vegetation and alluvial material, and was cleaned using “Sunward” crawler excavator. The cleaning of this canal will continue in December, which will ensure normal water flow in the canal.

MUNICIPALITY OF PETROVEC
– Drainage canals in total length of 2250 meters cleaned in Skopje “TAV” Airport
From 01-11 Nov, drainage canals in total length of 2250 meters in the Skopje Airport were cleaned from sediments and vegetation using machinery.

MUNICIPALITY OF ARACHINOVO
– Perimeter canal in Municipality of Arachinovo in total length of 350 meters.
Although not being part of the annual plan for maintenance of the canal network, the perimeter canal in the municipality of Arachinovo in total length of 350 meters was cleaned of various type of garbage disposed by unscrupulous citizens. The cleaning was carried out using crawler excavator “Sunward”. Normal flow of water in the canal resumed.

 

 

MUNICIPALITY OF DJORCE PETROV
- Irrigation canal “Stopanski Dvor” in the Municipality of Djorce Petrov in total length of 600 meters.
From 26–30 Nov, a canal in total length of 600 meters in location named “Stopanski dvor” in the Municipality of Djorce Petrov was cleaned of sediments and vegetation using small excavator “Yanmar”.
Normal flow of water in the canal resumed.

The pumping station in the village of Taor was put into operation in this period of the year according to the needs and the level of groundwater in the drainage canal network, which prevented flooding of agricultural and residential buildings on the entire territory of the drainage HMS.
