The main activity of the Branch Office Skopjesko, Skopje is the continuous maintenance and cleaning of the Drainage Systems, as there will be no floods on the agricultural areas as well as on the residential and industrial buildings on the territory of the Municipalities of Gazi Baba, Ilinden and Petrovec. Within the system two Pumping Stations are being held, as well as three irrigation systems on the territory of the Municipalities Karposh and Gorce Petrov as well as a Bučinci dam.

The hydro-meliorative drainage system Skopsko Pole was built in the period from 1959 to 1965 and covers a total area of 6600 hectares from the Skopje valley, in the vicinity of the Municipalities of Gazi Baba, Ilinden and Petrovec.

Following the hydro-technical concept HMS consists of two subsystems: Lower zone on the area of 2100 ha and Upper zone on an area of 4500 ha.

Storm waters on an area of 25,000 ha of a dozen of torrents are accepted from the Border Channel, which is 27 km long and flows into the Vardar River at the Taor locality.

For more efficient draining of the waters from the Main Canal-Upper Zone in the Boreal Channel, the Pumping Station at the Bellevue Area is occasionally used
Under the jurisdiction of the Branch Office Skopsko Polje-Skopje, there are three irrigation systems in Bardovci-Zlokukani with an area of about 60 ha, Orman-Volkovo with an area of about 115 ha, and Novo Selo with an area of about 59 ha arable land.

These systems operate with intakes on the river Lepenec. Every year at the beginning of the irrigation season, the earthly main channels and the branches of earthen furrows are cleared.

Skopsko Pole also operates with a ground-level dam on the Bujkovska River, near the village of Bucinci with a capacity of 256800 m3. Its purpose is irrigation of the area between the villages Bujkovci and Miladinovci.
